Today is the 55th birthday of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration!
Some of NASA’s greatest achievements include (pictured clockwise, starting top left) : capturing images of celestial bodies from all over the universe with the Hubble Space Telescope; landing rovers on Mars; jointly developing the International Space Station with RKA, JAXA, ESA, and CSA; creating reusable space shuttles; landing the first humans on the moon; and sending the Golden Record with information about humanity outside of the solar system onboard Voyager 1 and 2.
