So many questions snort.
I do try to dress nicely. I do appreciate some designer garments but I never pay full price for anything.
Do I judge people by what they wear, yes of course, doesn't everyone? If I see a person in very revealing and ill fitting clothes I have to wonder about how they see themselves etc.
What I typically wear depends on the season, we have 4 very distinct seasons and I dress accordingly.

The first thing that anybody does is judge what they see. That's just the way it is. No amount of PC indoctrination will change that.
Typically you dress for whatever you're doing. At work it's biz casual. When I'm at home, jeans and t-shirts do the job.
I do not expel a lot of energy worrying about clothing.

I have to get rid of most of my button down shirts my shoulders don't fit them anymore. Most have been worn less than five times. I have a ton of shirts. My housekeeper's husband is going to be very pleased.

The D3 look huge on me, because they are made for someone a lot beefier then me. I have scrawny legs, so the D1 fit a lot better. It is the same with shirts. If I get a classic fit, it is going to be poofy around the mid-section. There is too much shirt for the belly. A person doesnt have to put a lot of energy into worrying abut clothing, but a person does need to have a bit of knowlege or innate style. Below is a link to the type of style I would like to have. I am about the same size I think. I am 6' and 175#. He carries that look well. It is casual though and I think I could pull it off. i.imgur.com/PBWq8S7.jpgI like that look, it is casual yet polished.

On the nicer button down shirts, I still have to get a fitted shirt. Even with my gut. LOL

I bet you have been wearing the same style jeans for quite some time, but they work for you ..right?

I haven't gone back to the 501's in a while but they were almost always the best fitting and most comfortable. I don't wear jeans enough to own tons of them anymore.

I look for it when I can. It always costs a little more because they're not easy to find.

What I typically wear depends on the season, we have 4 very distinct seasons and I dress accordingly. what is typical for this time of year? Dress, slacks, jeans? t-shirt, blouse? I think fit is king. I used to wear a bit oversize. Now I go for slim fit. The other thing about dressing nice is appropriateness. I would look odd wearing a sports coat when everyone else is wearing t-shirts. I think a person can dress just a bit nicer then those he is around. I go to another forum on male fashion and there are a lot of school age posters who want to wear a tie or something to school, but that just looks silly as it is way overdressed. Shoes are way more important then I used to think. I have always heard that women pay attention to shoes. I have gotten more comments on my shoes then anything else lately. I just wear converse tennie shoes or I guess it is a loafer. I really want a blazer or sport coat. I am looking for cheap though, so am taking my time. I am having some trouble with shirts. I am not really slim, but I am slimmer then what the typical shirt is. My neck size is 16 or 16 1/2 and my arms are 33/34, but my shoulders are narrow. So most shirts that fit the neck are way too wide. Slim fit works well, but that is hard to find at thrift stores. This time of year, with the rain and the colder temps I start with boots.

I love clothes! I have a ton and think I may even need more. The majority of my clothes are for the office since that is where I need to look the most decent. As soone as it get home, it's t shirts and sweats. I don't wear jeans terribly often, just when I'm going out somehwere. But on the weekends I can most likely be found at home or at a family member's house. I don't care very much what I look like there, so it's usually yoga pants and a t shirt. At work I Look pretty put together, at home I Look like a homeless person.

Clothes are very important to me. I love shopping and finding just the right garment or accessory. I have a very large closet.
