Hackers claiming to be with the group Anonymous have taken credit for hacking a French jihadi website in retaliation for Wednesday’s terror attack on the Paris-based Charlie Hebdo magazine. The website ansar-alhaqq.net currently redirects to the search engine Duck Duck Go. Hackers using the Twitter handle @opcharliehebdo claimed responsibility, tweeting “Expect us,” with the hashtag #TangoDown, CNN reported. Amid the France terror crisis, Anonymous announced in a video Friday that it was declaring war on Islamic extremists. The video posted on YouTube showed a French-speaking individual in a Guy Fawkes mask warning terrorists to expect their “destruction.” “We, Anonymous around the world, have decided to declare war on you the terrorists,” the Anonymous member says. “You allowed yourselves to kill innocent people, we will therefore avenge their deaths,” the individual continues. “You will not impose your Shariah law in our democracies, we will not let your stupidity kill our liberties and our freedom of expression. We have warned you; expect your destruction.” The video ends with the individual saying “We do not forget. We do not forgive. Be afraid of us, Islamic State and al Qaeda — you will get our vengeance.” In a more recent issue, the magazine published a cartoon depicting a member of the Islamic State group beheading Muhammad.
