End of January, I'm thinking about booking a short week or week and a half trip somewhere warm and sandy... But, I have never done it before. Does anyone have experience traveling to somewhere in Mexico, Cancun, or Maui, maybe Florida? Looking for something that doesn't cost a ton but nice and relaxing.

Zante has this perfect beach , i've been there it's idyllic

I would recommend Cancun. But I don't have any information on expenses, my trip was paid for by my dad, since I went there for my brother's wedding. We stayed at the Dreams Resort & Spa. It was absolutely beautiful though! Once you get past the instant sweat from all the heat, that is. I literally stepped off the and was instantly drenched, it was that humid even inside the airport. Ugh. But once I was able to make it to my hotel room (after getting lost at the resort & running into people who did not speak a word of english!) and cool off, it was nice.
