It's still missing...
Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370/MAS370) was a scheduled international passenger flight that disappeared on 8 March 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing Capital International Airport in Beijing, China. Flight 370 last made voice contact with air traffic control at 01:19 MYT (17:19 UTC, 7 March) when it was over the South China Sea, less than an hour after takeoff. The aircraft disappeared from air traffic controllers' radar screens at 01:21.[3][4] Malaysian military radar continued to track Flight 370 as it deviated from its planned flight path and crossed the Malay Peninsula. Flight 370 left the range of Malaysian military radar at 02:22 while over the Andaman Sea, 200 nautical miles (370 km; 230 mi) northwest of Penang in northwestern Malaysia.[5]:3[6] The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER, was carrying 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations.[7]

Ya know, when the Bermuda Triangle got its reputation, there weren't all of the fancy, new fangled, tracking gizmos. But this one seems to have just vanished...
How the hell does this happen in today's day and age?

How the hell does this happen in today's day and age? There are lots of rumors, some say it had gold on it and it was simply stolen, the passengers were let go..... but not in a good way.

The Titanic was eventually found, so maybe one day this will turn up. Or maybe it's the Jimmy Hoffa of aircraft.

It will either turn up when it is used as a flying bomb and then we will know it was hijacked or it is in the bottom of the ocean.

A flying bomb! LMAO! Turn those f__king stations off you crazy person Speculation has been far and wide about where this went and why. IMO - As time passes the likelihood that it would be used in an act of terrorism is reduced. But I most certainly saw that as a viable probability in the days immediately following the disappearance.

Take it back. I don't see you as a crazy person. Don't destroy my preconceptions. There are plenty of aircraft laying around everywhere. They wouldn't have to steal one.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I was sure you thought I was insane... - the first week or two, maybe even a month, it seemed like a very real scenario. (among hundreds of scenarios) After that, the "threat" dwindled. Now, if some idiot wanted to use a that way, he'd be better off getting a different craft somewhere else. That one won't be usable. Not without lots of maintenance.

Think of all the airports everywhere. Thin of all the equipment Isis has acquired that we just left behind.
They have all the flying bombs they need.

But in the immediate days following the disappearance, nobody knew then what was coming with that . Apparently nobody ever will. But who would have thought that a few morons could use planes as weapons before 9/11? That wasn't exactly in the forefront of anybody's mind. So the extrapolation wasn't hard to make.

Political commentator Rush Limbaugh, according to CNN, speculated that the aircraft may have been shot down.
Genius that man....

Actually it was in a presidential briefing. I've seen that too. My point was that ruling out using the as a weapon in the early days following its disappearance would have been fool hearty. Because as we all know now, a can be used as a weapon. And obviously planes have been a good delivery system for weapons as well.

Apparently the incident is still under investigation. Malaysia's Prime Minister, Najib Razak, has stated that the aircraft's flight ended somewhere in the Indian Ocean. No consolation to the families of those on board eh Conspiracy theorists were bolstered by the revelation of new satellite data two weeks after the flight disappeared that had been hidden from the public. Wonder why?!
