Law Enforcement Dispatched To Suspected ISIS Invasion Thanks To One Racist Idiot KERRY-ANNE - OCTOBER 13, 2015
It was a Saturday like any other when some racist idiot spotted a bunch of guys with beards visiting a castle. Like any rational human being (cough), he assumed that ISIS had invaded. When cops arrived on the scene to find the “suspects”, they fell about laughing. As Mashable reports: In fact, it was a gathering of Bearded Villains, a self-described “brotherhood of elite bearded men from all over the world.” The group was having a photoshoot at the Brahehus Castle ruin, located in the province of Småland, Sweden, but apparently their long beards and the group’s black flag were enough for someone to mistake them for terrorists. That’s right. Our guy with the trigger finger and the cops on speed dial took one look at some guys with beards and thought: Ohmagad! It’s the Islamist invasion! Image via Facebook Image via Mashable
Never mind the facts that they’re white, Sweden is almost 2,000 air miles away from Syria, and that ISIS have no air or sea capability. Andreas Fransson, a member of the beard club, described what happened next on his Facebook page: “We had a good with the cops, who had to respond to the call, but quickly saw that we weren’t terrorists, out in the middle of nowhere, dressed in formal wear, hugging and laughing,”
This is the second major embarrassment of this kind in Sweden this year. Back in February, cops raided an apartment after reports of ISIS propaganda. They arrived on the scene to find that the caller had simply misread birthday balloons, which said “21,” or “IS.” The fear level among the Western public can largely be put down to the ceaseless efforts by conservative politicians and pundits to scare us into greater restrictions on civil liberties and increased public spending on the arms industry. Prior to the invasion of Iraq, this same method convinced over half of U.S. citizens that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Despite the fact that no weapons were ever found, the constant spinning of conservatives in media and politics means 4 in 10 Americans believe there were. In the most recent poll, over 80% of the U.S public believe the Islamic State is the greatest threat to the United States of America. History is repeating itself, and it will likely be ordinary citizens in the West and the Middle East that pay the price. Featured Image via Facebook Source
