Can the average American explain why radical Muslims attacked the twin towers on Sept. 11, 2011, and why terrorist groups continue to recruit and scheme to attack them?

No, we have never been mercilessly bombed, and had our families killed, and our women raped and killed afterward. All because our western corporations are too lazy to negotiate contracts with the countries who's natural resources they want to steal.
So no we don't get it.
And the towers were a precursor to war with the wrong countries. Almost all of the hijackers were Saudi. What a fucking set up.

Can the average American explain why radical Muslims attacked the twin towers on Sept. 11, 2011, and why terrorist groups continue to recruit and scheme to attack them? I don't know about the "average" American... but here's my take on the reason: It wasn't the "Twin Towers" that they attacked... it was "The World Trade Center". Small but important distinction. Plus the attack wasn't limited to just the WTC. They also attacked the Pentagon, and no one (except al Qaeda) knows the intended target of the that went down in Pennsylvania (headed for Washington, after being hijacked). Their two targets represented wealth and power of "The West" (read: Non-Islamic Nations). They have a great hatred of "The West" because of the freedom and independence our women have, as well as the fact that we allow other religions to thrive and flourish. They see us ("The West") as a threat to their control of their people and their women. What they fail to realize is... "The West" would be no threat to them IF they would just keep to themselves (stop terrorist attacks) and stop forcing their beliefs on others (let people live their lives, including their women, as they see fit).
