We don't often need kettles, we drink coffee. Although those who drink tea may have a kettle. I have a stove top one and an electric one.
Egg cups? If you don't eat soft boiled eggs why the fuck would you need an egg cup?

Its like grits. In the UK we use it primarily for hanging wallpaper, filling holes in walls and as a general adhesive but the Americans eat it with eggs, sausage and bacon for breakfast.
Go figure, as they say.
