To say that Tom Cruise was upset about Leah Remini's recent onslaught against Scientology would be a gigantic understatement. Us Weekly is quoting a source who said that the actor is "freaking out" about Leah's tell-all book, "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," and her press tour to support it. The book details her life in the highly controversial religion and, at times, she turns her attention to the "Mission: Impossible" star, as he is the defacto face of Scientology. Her anecdotes about the actor aren't always heartwarming. Among the stories in the book, Leah writes of a time when Tom allegedly had a full-blown meltdown while baking cookies and began screaming at assistants. Of course, in a 20/20 interview she also spoke about having been written up for telling Tom and his ex-wife Katie Holmes to "get a room" as he forcibly kissed her. Leah claims that she was sent to Florida for "reprogramming" after Tom and Katie allegedly reported her to the church for inappropriate behavior during their nuptials. "[Tom] thinks it's a major betrayal," the source said of Leah's tell-all. However, it's incredibly unlikely that Tom would respond to any of Leah's claims or even acknowledge her existence. "Leah is what the church calls a 'suppressive person,' so she's evil in his mind,” the source says. "He wipes the memory of any SP out of his life. He's letting the Scientology people discredit her." As Leah's claims reached a fever pitch, Katie issued a statement apologizing for ever upsetting the "King of Queens" actress. The Church of Scientology, though, is far from apologizing, vehemently denying Leah's claims. "She needs to move on with her life instead of pathetically exploiting her former religion, her former friends and other celebrities for money and attention to appear relevant again," the church said in a statement. "Sadly, bitterness and anger are common threads through Ms. Remini's life… Rather than take responsibility for self-inflicted problems, she is quick to blame others." The statement later said Leah "now regurgitates the tired myths the Church has repeatedly debunked, circulated by the same tiny clique of expelled former staffers bitter at having lost the positions they enjoyed before their malfeasance and unethical conduct were uncovered. Ms. Remini is now joined at the hip with this collection of deadbeats, admitted liars, self-admitted perjurers, wife beaters and worse." Source
